BLS Healthcare Provider Course (CPR)

This eight-hour American Heart Association Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen); use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). Defensive Driving (DDC-8)

Drivers who have accumulated penalty points against their records can have up to four points removed upon successful completion of this course. Depending on your insurance carrier, there is a possible discount available. You must register in advance and must be on time. As a reminder, any person who drives a motor vehicle when his or her license is cancelled, suspended or revoked is in violation of S.C. Statute 56-1-460 and is subject to arrest; this includes driving to and from TTC campuses. Students must verify before enrolling (at if they have a penalty points balance on their driving record for the credited points to be applied. Note: This is not a course for ADSAP substance violations.  Books included

Fresh from the Garden! Preserving Fruit and Vegetables to Enjoy All Year

Want to enjoy those farm-fresh fruits and veggies all winter long? Looking to save money and maintain good health?  Preserving food that is grown or purchased locally at the height of its freshness and flavor is not only economical, but also a great way to keep a healthy variety in your diet throughout the year. This workshop demonstrates and discusses all of the equipment needed for preserving fresh fruits and vegetables.

Heartsaver CPR and AED

This 4-hour course is designed for the general public. It will prepare students to perform CPR on adults, children and infant victims. A skills test will be given to assess proper technique and comprehension.

Phlebotomist Training Program

This course provides the theoretical and practical knowledge of how to become a phlebotomist. It covers establishing a professional relationship with the patient; anatomy and physiology; medical terminology; selecting and preparing the venipuncture site; collecting specimens; donor patients; preparing and maintaining equipment; and the health, safety and legal aspects of the occupation. "Live" sticks are performed. *120-hour Clinical Externship will begin immediately upon completion of the 60 classroom hours. Note: Externship hours may vary and may only be available during daytime hours - please make schedule accommodations accordingly. All students will complete 12 hours per week in the clinical externship portion for 10 weeks. Hours will be scheduled by Externship Coordinator and Program Manager. 

Books not included, but required: The Phlebotomy Textbook: Third Edition, Strasinger and Phlebotomy Notes. Approximately $90. Available at TTC bookstore.

*Scrubs in any color and closed-toe, closed-heel tennis shoes are required for class.

Note: Prior to the start of externship, all students are required to show proof of negative TB skin test, major medical insurance (student plans acceptable), a 10-year clear National SLED check, MMR records, and a negative 10-panel drug screen.

    GED Classes - FREE

    Want to earn your GED?  Then, join us at no cost to you.

    In collaboration with Charleston County School District Adult Education, the St. Paulís Parish Site is offering the GED program for adults ages 22 and older. There is no cost to participate in this program, and it provides instruction, academic assessments, classroom materials and textbooks. Upon successful completion of the course requirements, eligible candidates will take the state GED test. If you pass, you will be awarded a South Carolina High School Equivalency Diploma. Earning a passing score on the General Education Development (GED) test could allow you to pursue college, earn a promotion, get a new job or prepare you to enlist in the military.

    Classes will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings 5-8 p.m.
