This nine-hour course prepares you for the EPA certification exam for refrigerant handling and recovery for stationary equipment. The EPA exam is given at the final course meeting and costs an additional $25, which must be paid separately by check, payable to the N.C. Refrigeration Board. Books included

This 35-hour course for experienced HVAC technicians briefly reviews the essentials of refrigeration theory and design, electrical components, and heat loss and heat gain calculations. It prepares the new geothermal technician for equipment selection, air flow and open-loop requirements and design, cost of geothermal operations, unit setup and startup, diagnosis of refrigeration, air side, water side and electrical, and the manual method for closed-loop systems.
