Basic Blueprint Reading

This five-day course teaches the fundamentals of mechanical blueprint reading. It helps individuals develop skills in reading and interpreting industrial drawings. Course material provides basic principles, concepts, ANSI and SI Metric drafting symbols and standards, terminology, manufacturing process notes, and other related technical information contained on a mechanical or CAD drawing. Basic Measuring Techniques

Learn proper techniques for the use of precision measuring instruments.  Discussion and hands-on demonstration will be provided in the use of steel rules, calipers, micrometers, depth micrometers and dial indicators.

APICS-The Association for Operations Management

The APICS CPIM program provides a common basis for individuals and organizations to evaluate their knowledge of the evolving field of production and inventory management. The program has helped individuals and their organizations become more productive and competitive because it is designed to test in-depth knowledge of a variety of subjects specific to production and inventory management. Each course is taught by an APICS instructor and is sponsored in conjunction with the Charleston APICS chapter.

Introduced in 1973 and reconfigured in 2000, CPIM continues to live up to its mission of educating individuals in the concepts, tools, terminology and integration of topics across operations functions. Detailed Scheduling and Planning

Focus on the various techniques for material and capacity scheduling. Study detailed descriptions of material requirements planning (MRP), capacity requirements planning (CRP), inventory management practices, and procurement and supplier planning. Course topics include recognizing techniques and practices of inventory management mechanics of the detailed material planning process, planning operations to support the priority plan, planning procurement, and external sources of supply.

LEAN MANUFACTURING CERTIFICATE

Lean Manufacturing

This is a three-day comprehensive course in lean manufacturing. The course includes student exercises and a hands-on group production flow simulation. Topics include definition of lean, history, Kaizen, value-added versus non-value-added activities, value-added measurements, types of waste, lean building blocks, implementing lean concepts, 5S workplace organization, quick change, mistake proofing, and just-in-time.
