This three-day, hands-on course is designed specifically to meet the needs of plant mechanical maintenance personnel. Topics include safety concerns associated with mechanical drive systems; pillow-block bearings (installation, troubleshooting, lubrication and selection); installation and removal procedures using bearing heaters and drivers, spanner wrenches, micrometers (proper shaft tolerance), feeler gauges (proper bearing clearance) and pullers; belt drives; chain drives; couplings; aligning a motor coupling using the straight edge and dial indicator method; and types of gear reducers.
