TTC offers programs for HR professionals, supervisors and managers. Courses may be used for credit towards recertification for either Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

It's the Law: The Legal Side of Management

In the effort to prevent employee lawsuits, your HR professionals, leaders and managers can be assets or liabilities. This course provides a frontline defense against costly litigation by giving you the knowledge and tools to handle workplace issues effectively. This course covers ADA, discrimination and harassment, recruiting and hiring, progressive discipline and termination, workplace violence, workplace privacy, substance abuse and Family Medical Leave Act. SHRM Essentials of Human Resource Management Certificate Program

Society for Human Resource Management logoThis program is approved by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) for recertification credit. Take as a review to keep abreast of changes in HR and receive credit toward recertification for your PHR or SPHR.

Reduce potentially costly lawsuits and improve your ability to handle challenging HR issues. This program's six-module format addresses HR and management practices. Learn key pieces of federal legislation on sexual harassment, age discrimination and FMLA; the role of the EEOC and its investigation process; how to improve employee recruitment and selection while avoiding legal pitfalls; the importance of effectively communicating base pay; and the process, methods and purpose of performance appraisals. Prepare for HR certification with the SHRM Learning System Course and
advance your human resource career!

Society for Human Resource ManagementWe offer this program in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The curriculum, designed by subject matter experts, covers the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) body of knowledge and includes application exercises that develop specific competencies and decision-making skills. Topics include strategic management, work force planning and employment, human resource development, total rewards, employee and labor relations, and risk management. Note: Tri-County Human Resource Management Association (TCHRMA) members are eligible for a reduced rate of $850. Contact Yvonne Noisette at 843.574.6083 or yvonne.noisette@tridenttech.edu for details.

The next testing period is Dec. 1-Jan. 31. To avoid a late fee, register for your exam by Oct. 10.
