Trident Technical College has partnered with Greenville Technical College to offer SC-DHEC- and NC-DHHS-approved asbestos abatement training for workers, supervisors, inspectors, management planners and project designers. These courses may be used for licensing as an asbestos abatement professional. Late registration and sign-in are from 7:30-8 a.m. All courses are held from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (unless noted otherwise) at TTC's Main Campus at the Complex for Economic Development (Bldg. 920). Mold and Fungi Control and Remediation
This two-day course provides remediation workers and supervisors, as well as project designers, with the state-of-the-art practices employed in remediation of mold and other microbials in indoor requirements. This program is based on the standard developed and submitted to ANSI by the American National Standards Committee on Guidelines for Mold and Fungi Control and Remediation, Z690. Course topics include an overview of biological contamination, industry backgrround, potential health effects, guidelines and standards, remediation equipment and techniques, personal protective equipment, proper work practices, disposal issues, post remediation, management liability and hands-on training. This course provides a review of compliance issues for the National Pollutant Elimination System (NPDES) permits including legal limits, data interpretation, conditions and terms, historical background, test methods, record keeping and administration.
