All OHSAS 18001 training is provided by Q-Quest International. Hazwoper/Hazmat and DOT training is provided by Chocklett Environmental.

All Hazwoper/Hazmat courses meet requirements of OSHA 29CFR 1910.120 (p) (q) for Operations, Technician, Hazwoper and RCRA (40CFR 311) Response Teams and are in compliance with NFPA Standard 472 and FEMA-Homeland Security Emergency Response.

American Society of Safety Engineers, Low Country Chapter Annual Professional Development Conference

The ASSE Low Country Chapter is looking forward to another successful professional development conference. Please make plans to attend and be part of an exciting day of education and training.

                                                 Crisis Management Tools

This year the Chapter is also encouraging environmental, health and safety students to attend. Registration for FULL-TIME (maintaining at least 12- hour course schedule) students is $25.

Registration after Friday, March 14, 2008 is $125 for ASSE members and $135 for non-members.

Hazardous Materials Responder Annual Refresher (Hazwoper and Hazmat)

This eight-hour refresher training program includes updates of state and federal regulations, site entry and control, case studies, decontamination, hazardous materials chemistry, identification, handling and emergency response procedures. Hazwoper/Hazmat (24-Hour Program)

This program provides competencies and training skills development for Hazmat team members. Course objectives include the organization of an incident command system, regulatory compliance, informational systems, specific chemical response techniques, site surveys and fundamental safety practices. Safety Director

This is an online, instructor-facilitated course that assists new and experienced safety directors to improve their skills. Through readings, Web searches, online discussions and other directed activities, improve your understanding of safety in the industry, including OSHA requirements. You complete a major project such as developing and presenting a safety training or written company policy for one or more topics in this course. At completion, you will be able to conduct a hazards assessment, identify strategies to deal with hazards, identify relevant safety training issues and deliver safety training. DOT WORKSHOPS
Transportation of Hazardous Materials

This course provides training in compliance with DOT requirements under 172.700 (formerly HM 126-HM 126F). It provides instruction for people who ship, receive or transport hazardous materials. Topics include packaging classes of materials, placarding, labeling and emergency response plans.
