CS4HS Workshop 2011 Friday, June 17, 2011 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Trident Technical College is offering a professional development opportunity for middle and high school teachers. The Computer Science for High School (CS4HS) program is an initiative sponsored by Google to promote Computer Science and Computational Thinking in high school and middle school curriculum. The workshop will expose educators to key and emerging information technologies.
Teachers will be presented with opportunities, developments, and challenges in the computer science and information technology fields which they can share with their students. The workshop is open to all teachers who are interested in technology and in sharing technology with their students.
During the workshop participants will have an opportunity to:
- Earn CEU’s
- Explore new trends in computer science and information technology such as cloud computing
- Visit a virtual, computerized, hospital patient lab and learn how computers play a role in health care education
- Engage in discussions with peers and with IT and computer science professionals during panel discussions
Learn about new tools and applications that can be used to engage students Engage your students with tools to take and share electronic notes, capture video and audio, create interactive software demonstrations and create other eLearning content. Demonstrations of Adobe Captivate and Microsoft OneNote will demonstrate how to collaborate electronically, create animation, videos, and interactivity for your courseware.
