23.1 Technology support being provided in the uses, applications and updating of server-side and client-side hardware/software |
| Quality Standards |
23.1.1 Instructors will contact the Department of Distance Learning and Broadcast Services when they have a need for (1) software, (2) computer hardware and/or (3) access to studio facilities for media production.
23.1.2 The Department of Distance Learning and Broadcast Services will be responsible for requesting new server-side and/or client-side equipment necessary for the development and delivery of online and mixed-mode courses.
23.1.3 Instructors will receive software training that is directly related to the development of an online or mixed-mode course from the Center for Teaching Support. |

23.2 Training support being provided for D2L and related software, instructional development and course design and management |
| Quality Standards |
23.2.1 Instructors will contact the Center for Teaching Support for training:
23.2.2 Instructors will contact the Center for Teaching Support for training on the listed “third party” software supported by the college that relates directly to online or mixed-mode course development (e.g., Camtasia, Respondus, Studymate, D2L). |

23.3 Training support being provided for learning new or enhancing existing teaching skills |
| Quality Standards |
23.3.1 CTS will provide instructors with training and tools to assess their teaching styles.
23.3.2 CTS will provide instructors with training and tools to assess their teaching effectiveness.
23.3.3 CTS will provide instructors with training and tools to assess their course design.
23.3.4 CTS will provide instructors with training and tools to assess optimal use of the D2L software functions. |

23.4 Training in "continuous improvement" via assessment; using assessment data to improve instruction |
| Quality Standards |
23.4.1 Instructors can participate in training that deals with assessing course design and how to use these assessments to improve clarity and presentation.
23.4.2 Instructors can participate in a "peer review" program designed to allow other instructors to provide constructive feedback on their course design and teaching skills. | |
