Educational Value

19.1 Creative methods of instruction that lead to successful student learning outcomes

Quality Standards

19.1.1 In the spirit of continuous process improvement, instructors will refine their approaches to instruction in order to increase student learning.

19.1.2 Through reading, dialogue with peers, attending professional development activities or through self-generated activities, instructors will maintain a desire to continually improve their methods to improve student learning outcomes.

Educational Value

19.2 Delivery of course material that is based on an instructor's extensive preparations

Quality Standards

19.2.1 Whether in face-to-face (F2F) interaction with students and/or online interaction, these interactions are preplanned and are evaluated for effectiveness.

19.2.2 Instructors will spend time planning, building mechanisms for delivery and evaluating the effectiveness of all instructional activities.

Educational Value

19.3 Course development that is based on sound instructional design principles

Quality Standards

19.3.1 Instructors will be knowledgeable in the "best practices" of instructional design.

19.3.2 Instructors will incorporate the “universally accepted principles” of instructional development.

19.3.3 Instructors will be knowledgeable of the specific principles that pertain to both traditional college (younger) and nontraditional college (older) students.
