16.1.1 Instructors will have access to enough information to ascertain whether students could or could not be successful in completing various forms (e.g. online, mixed- mode, etc.) of course delivery.
16.1.2 Instructors will be aware of their biases toward student performance and/or different methods of course delivery. |

16.2.1 Instructors will "set the success bar" for the course and provide reasonable opportunity for students to succeed.

| Quality Standards |
16.3.1 Instructors will receive training from the Center for Teaching Support regarding the ways in which students learn.
16.3.2 Instructors will use methodologies that help students process information and that teach them how to think on their own.
16.3.3 New learners will be given opportunities, whether required or optional, to expand their new learning skills. Experienced learners will be provided opportunities, whether required or optional, to adapt their existing learning skills to novel situations and issues. |

16.4.1 Instructors will provide to students a clear statement of the learning goals for the course, whether orally, in writing and/or electronically.
