6.2.2 Instructors will have an understanding of what learning modalities are and how they can be effectively used to teach course content. Learning modalities are also referred to as cognitive styles. ERIC (Education Resources Information Center) defines this concept as "information processing habits which represent the learner’s typical modes of perceiving, thinking, remembering, and problem solving." Instructors will deliver content in more than one way when appropriate in order to enhance student learning. These ways may include the following:

6.3.1 Instructors will be present during the total scheduled time period of the class, so students will have access to communicate with the instructor.

6.3.3 Instructors will schedule regular times to read and respond to communications within WebCT. Online accessibility times/days will be communicated to students through syllabus and/or addendum or course guidelines page (WebCT). |

6.4.1 All students are informed on the first day of the course to contact the instructor and/or d2lhelp@tridenttech.edu if they are having problems logging in or navigating the online or mixed-mode course
6.4.2 All students are given their instructor’s office telephone number and the Instructional Support Coordinator’s (Kawana Morris) telephone number (i.e., 574-6522) if they need to talk with someone about logging in or navigating the online or mixed-mode course.
6.4.3 When the software used is course-specific (e.g. Photoshop for an ARV course), the instructor will give clear directions on how to receive support if students experience technical problems in the operations of the software or the transmissions of files. |
