Step 1:

Submit Script

In their SC Film Production Fund Overview document the South Carolina Film Commission states that “The finished project may be any length and suitable for broadcast or showing to a family audience and must meet standards for commercial and public television. Since the goal of the production fund is to help prepare college students for work in the motion picture industry, we hope producers and education entities will consider producing dramatic film or video projects. This will allow more opportunities for students to become familiar with all aspects of motion picture production. From production assistance, accounting, grip, electric, camera, scenic and even craft service and catering, there are many jobs to learn in the industry.”

To identify appropriate dramatic film and video projects, Trident Technical College will be using a professional, independent script consultant to select the top four (4) candidates that the college will collaborate with to submit final grant proposals to the SC Film Commission for this year’s SC Production Fund.

All filmmakers who wish to partner with Trident Technical College on this project must submit their script to the Film, Media and Visual Arts division office in the 500 building, room 122 on Main Campus by 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 10th.

Scripts will be evaluated using the following criteria:
15 points for premise
20 points for characterization
20 points for dialogue
20 points for story line
15 points for production value/setting
10 points for relevance to South Carolina

NOTE:
The last category is in compliance with the SC Film Production Fund Assessment criteria which require Ethnic/Historical/Cultural content relevant to South Carolina, the inclusion of South Carolina content and/or content appropriate for South Carolina audiences.
