Established in 2009 by the Lowcountry Manufacturers Council, the Fund assists students enrolled in two associate degree General Technology career path programs and various certificates in Industrial Technology.
Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:
- must be a new, returning or continuing student;
- must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county resident;
- must be enrolled in the following associate degree program:
- General Technology - career path in:
- Industrial Maintenance Mechanics
OR - Electrician: Construction and Industrial
- or one of the following certificate programs:
- Industrial Maintenance
- Industrial Mechanic
- Electrician: Industrial
- Welding Gas Metal Arc and Flux Cored Arc
- Welding Gas Tungsten Arc
- Welding Shielded Metal Arc
- must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours; and
- must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,500 ($750 for fall semester/$750 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.
