Construction Specifications Institute Scholarship Fund

Established in 2008 by the Charleston Chapter of the Construction Specification Institute, the Fund assists students enrolled in various associate degrees and certificates in Engineering Technology and various associate degree General Technology career path programs.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1)     must be a new, returning or continuing student;
2)     must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county resident;
3)     must be enrolled in one of the following associate degree programs:
  • Civil Engineering Technology
  • Electronics Engineering Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Engineering Design Graphics or
  • General Technology (career path in:
    • Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanics
    • Basic Construction Trades
    • Engineering Design Graphics
    • Electrician: Construction and Industrial, Environmental Technology
    • Industrial Electricity/Electronics or
    • Welding
or one of the following certificate programs:
  • Architectural Design Graphics I
  • Architectural Design Graphics II
  • Basic Electronic Journeyman I
  • CIM Production Automation Control
  • Computer Aided Design I
  • Computer Aided Design II
  • Construction Management
  • Engineering Design Graphics
  • Land Development Technology or
  • Surveying;
4)     must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;
5)    must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater; and
6)     must demonstrate financial need (determined from completed FAFSA form).

Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,500 ($750 for fall semester/$750 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.
