The Fund assists students, particularly women, to acquire skills to become independent, productive members of the region's work force.
Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:
1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;
2) must be a Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester county resident;
3) must be enrolled in any program of study;
4) must enroll in and maintain at least 6 credit hours;
5) must have completed at least 18 credit hours;
6) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater; and
7) must demonstrate financial need (determined from completed FAFSA form).
Special consideration is given to students who are single parents with custody of one or more children.
Award amount/use: Award of up to $1,300 ($650 for fall semester/$650 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment. The award is renewable for one year as long as the recipient continues to meet all eligibility criteria.
