Established in memory of Ms. Gilbert, a lifelong Charleston resident. Despite being born with spina bifida, she was an honor graduate of St. Andrews High School, attended TTC maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earned an associate degree in Accounting.
Student Eligibility: New, returnng or continuing students are eligible to apply.
To qualify: Available to Accounting students; but if no eligible candidates apply, the award is open to students enrolled in the fields of Automotive Technology, Physical and Occupational Therapy or Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Mechanics. New students must be high school graduates or equivalent with a B average or higher. Returning students must have attended TTC or any accredited two- or four-year college, completed six semester credit hours and attained a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA. To remain eligible, recipient must enroll in and maintain at least six semester credit hours and have a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA.
Award amount/use: Up to $650 for tuition and books for Fall and Spring semesters for up to four years if seeking an associate degree and up to two years if pursuing a certificate or diploma, if student continues to qualify. Maximum total award is $5,200 or $2,600 for certificate or diploma students.
