Established with a bequest from Susan Wallace, a former TTC student and administrative specialist for the Business Technology Division, in appreciation of the assistance given to her by firemen from the town of Mt. Pleasant.

Student Eligibility:  New, returning or continuing students are eligible to apply.

To qualify: Tri-county resident in need of financial assistance and currently employed by and remain employed by a county, municipal or public service district fire department in South Carolina; enrolled in the Fire Service career path, in TTC courses that are program requirements; returning to school to enhance a career in fire service; have and maintain a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA; and be enrolled in and maintain at least six semester credit hours in the program. To remain eligible criteria must be met each semester.

Award amount/use: Up to the cost of books and tuition for the number of semester credit hours enrolled in for the Fire Service career path for Fall and Spring semesters, as long as the recipient continues to qualify. Award also may be made during the Summer Term if the recipient is enrolled. Five years will be the maximum time allowed for any recipient to receive the scholarship for tuition, books, required fees, equipment and materials.
