Students at the Culinary Institute of Charleston have many opportunities for involvement in the community. Internships and externships allow students to practice techniques and skills learned in the classroom and gain the hands-on experience employers seek. The Hospitality and Culinary Student Association is a great way to get involved and make a difference. Special events, such as the Wine Expo, give students a chance to show off their knowledge and make important contacts in the industry and community. 

CULINARY CONSORTIUM:
The Consortium is a network of culinary institutions in major tourist destinations with distinctive culinary styles and international reputations for fine dining. Exchange opportunities for students and faculty enhances student exposure and expands program offerings at each institution. Students who are looking nationally for a culinary/hospitality program will be attracted to the Consortium by its quality programs and attractive locations, such as Santa Fe, San Francisco and the Washington, D.C. area.
