| SBTCE POLICY 8-7-104: HIV INFECTION AND AIDS |
The President will make decisions regarding any change in the status of an employee who is known to college officials to have AIDS or Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection (HIV) (upon adequate documentation from the employee's physician) on a case by case basis. Employees with AIDS or HIV will not be excluded from employment on this basis alone. The President will make these decisions by using a team approach which may include the employee's physician, appropriate personnel from the college, appropriate public health officials and others deemed appropriate after the necessary releases have been received from the employee.
The identity of any employee with AIDS or HIV infection will be confidential.
