8-19-0 Statement of Ethical Principles for Employees

S.C. ETHICS, GOVERNMENT ACCOUNTABILITY, AND CAMPAIGN REFORM ACT, S.C. CODE ANN. §§ 8-13-10 TO -1520


PURPOSE

All Trident Technical College employees shall abide by the basic principles of honesty, accountability, integrity, and respect.  These principles are fundamental in the ultimate mission of the college: to produce well-educated, well-prepared graduates who will serve our communities, our state, our nation, and our world.  All employees of the college have an obligation to apply these ethical principles in their duties and responsibilities.

HONESTY

Trident Technical College employees shall be truthful and sincere in all interactions with the public, with students, and with each other.  They shall avoid even the appearance of wrongdoing and report any unethical behavior. 

ACCOUNTABILITY

Each Trident Technical College employee takes responsibility for his or her own actions and personal decisions to protect the institution by following all policies and procedures of the college and the statutes and regulations of the State of South Carolina.

INTEGRITY

Trident Technical College employees shall adhere to an ethical code of conduct that fully supports the values necessary for good leadership, sets a positive example for all students, and advances the overall purpose and mission of the college.

RESPECT

Trident Technical College employees shall discharge their duties with care, compassion, and concern for the well-being of all those they serve.  They recognize the inherent worth and dignity of all persons regardless of race, color, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, or disability.
