- AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT
Audiovisual equipment includes both digital and analog devices such as camcorders, overhead projectors, televisions, digital voice recorders,VCRs, and DVD players, sound equipment, and other types of electric/electronic devices used to convey, demonstrate, or reproduce information.
- SELECTION OF AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT FOR PURCHASE
Audiovisual equipment needs should be discussed with the Electronic Technician in the AV department prior to purchase. Recommendations will be based on criteria such as user needs, ease of use, compatibility, operability, performance reliability, appearance, safety, sturdiness, reputation, cost, warranty, service, and obsolescence.
- USE OF AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT
Equipment may be checked out from the AV department of the Learning Resources Centers. The length of time that equipment may be checked out is based on need and availability of equipment. AV equipment must be checked out by faculty or staff. All audiovisual equipment which has been purchased with special funds (such as federal grants, etc.) or departmental funds will be checked out to that department and that department will be the custodian of that equipment.
- LOST AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT
Payment must be made for lost or damaged audiovisual equipment. If necessary, payment for lost or damaged equipment will be withheld from the borrower's paycheck as outlined in TTC Procedure 14-2-1, Library Materials, Overdue.
- MAINTENANCE OF AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT
The maintenance of all audiovisual equipment will be the responsibility of the AV Department of Learning Resources. As part of the maintenance service, all consumable items such as projector lamps, reels, etc., will be maintained in stock. Equipment not on warranty will be repaired by the AV Department of Learning Resources, if possible, or sent out for repair. A standard maintenance schedule will be established to insure effective operation of each piece of capital audiovisual equipment logged in the records of Learning Resources.
