NEW
You are a new student if you are attending TTC for the first time, have not attended any other approved, regionally accredited postsecondary institution, and want to enroll in a curriculum program to pursue an associate degree, diploma, or certificate.
NONDEGREE
You are a nondegree student if you do not plan to earn a certificate, degree, or diploma at TTC. Nondegree students must be at least 18 years old or meet the criteria for TTC's high school programs (refer to catalog). Nondegree students have no admission requirements but may be asked to provide transcripts or test scores as evidence of course prerequisites. Nondegree students are not eligible for financial aid or lottery-funded tuition assistance.
UNDECIDED
You are an undecided student if you have met admissions requirements but have not chosen an academic program at TTC or are not sure whether you want to earn a certificate, diploma, two-year degree, and/or four-year degree. A college counselor can help you choose a program of study or advise you regarding courses to take while you are undecided. Undecided students are not eligible for financial aid or lottery-funded tuition assistance.
RETURNING
You are a returning student if you have not been enrolled within the last three semesters. Submit a Student Information Update form in Admissions by the application deadline of the semester you plan to attend.
TRANSFER
You are a transfer student if you are attending TTC for the first time, you have attended other approved, regionally accredited postsecondary institutions, and you plan to transfer credit, submit official transcripts from all colleges from which you want transfer credit to TTC. TTC will not compute transfer hours or grades in your GPA. TTC accepts all transfer students in good standing, without regard to records of disciplinary or academic standing at the previous institution(s). TTC transcripts will show the transfer credit awarded. Submit an Admission Application and $25 nonrefundable application fee; you must meet requirements for the program of study you choose.
TRANSIENT
Transient students are students from other colleges and universities. They may be admitted to take summer work provided they are in good standing at their institutions, eligible to return, and have institutional permission to enroll in a particular course. You are a transient student if you are matriculating at another college and wish to enroll at TTC. Submit an Admission Application and $25 nonrefundable application fee.
CROSS REGISTRATION
You are a cross registration student if you attend Charleston Southern, College of Charleston, Medical University or The Citadel and wish to enroll at TTC. Submit the Admission Application and Cross Registration form before registering; register during Priority Registration or in Admissions on Registration Day.
HIGH SCHOOL
If you attend high school in Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties or a home school association, you may participate in our Dual Credit or Early Admit programs. For more information on these programs, please refer to the College's Catalog.
INTERNATIONAL
If you are requesting a student visa or transferring from another college under a student visa, please contact demetria.griffin@tridenttech.edu, Admissions Coordinator for International students, 843.574.6325.
AUDIT
If you want to enroll in curriculum classes without earning credit, submit an Admission Application with the $25 nonrefundable application fee; pay full tuition for course work and get departmental approval to audit classes with prerequisite or test score requirements, some courses may not be audited. Register as an audit student. You will not get credit for courses you take as an audit student and may not change from audit-to-credit or credit-to-audit status after Drop/Add.
SENIOR CITIZEN
If you are over 60, a legal resident of South Carolina and not employed full time, you may take selected academic courses at TTC on a space-available basis as a senior citizen without paying tuition. Submit an Admission Application with the $25 nonrefundable application fee. Contact the Business office at 843.574.6026 before registration.
