QUALITY COUNCIL PURPOSE

The Quality Council of Trident Technical College is responsible for managing all of the elements of the College’s quality initiative.

  1. PLANNING
    • Reviews annually the College-wide outcomes of the quality initiative for the previous yearEstablishes objectives for the ensuing year, which are consistent with the College’s institutional goals and strategic objectives

  2. DATA COLLECTION
    • Collects information through forums involving the faculty and staff Monitors the organizational climate and customer satisfaction level through surveys and other data collection methods 
    • Takes immediate action or makes recommendations for improvements, based on results and feedback 

  3.  INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
    • Develops effectiveness indicators for the IE assessment of the College’s quality initiative Collects appropriate data, reviews assessment results and suggests changes
    • Reviews annual Commission on Higher Education IE reports for information and for identifying potential projects relevant to existing or planned quality activities
    • Fosters concepts of Institutional Effectiveness as set forth in the SACS "Criteria for Accreditation"

  4. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
    • Strengthens knowledge of quality principles and practices through participation in college and community events
    • Monitors, for continual improvement, the Introduction to Quality course, supervisory skills training, new staff orientation, front line training (Connections,) and other training specifically identified by Quality Council 
    • Provides input, as appropriate, into professional development opportunities at the College and plans the events for professional development day for employees

  5. PROCESS IMPROVEMENT
    • Identifies processes to be improved Charters cross functional teams
    • Hears periodic reports from teams prior to their final presentation in order to ensure adherence to the project statement and the Improvement Process; use of appropriate quality improvement tools; and formulation of data-based recommendations
    • Assists teams in identifying stakeholders, to help ensure their input
    • Provides information that may not be readily available to the team
    • Receives the team's final presentation and reviews its recommendations
    • Assists in implementing team recommendations, as needed
    • Leads the College’s recognition of the teams' efforts
    • Monitors the implementation of team recommendations, in order to ensure success

  6. COMMUNICATION
    • Maintains an environment conducive to change by providing the College community with quality awareness activities and formal communications relating to the quality initiative 

  7. EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
    • Establishes and oversees a system of employee recognition including recognition of individuals, work groups, divisions, departments and process improvement teams
