Graduation Ceremony: Friday, May 8, 2009 at 7 p.m.
Mandatory Dress Rehearsal and Line-up: Friday, May 8, 2009 at 5:30 p.m.

Step 1 - Graduation Application
Apply for graduation by completing a graduation application by the March 2 deadline and submit it to the Registrar's office at Main Campus. You can also submit the application online by going to your TTC Express account. A printable version of the Graduation Application is also available online. The graduation application deadline is March 2, 2009. The Registrar's office will confirm receipt of the application.

Step 2 - Cap and Gown Orders/Graduation Announcements [top]
Obtain your cap and gown order form from the Registrar's Office after you submit your graduation application. You will need a cap and gown order form issued by the Registrar's office to purchase your cap and gown at TTC's Bookstore on Main Campus. The cap and gown order deadline is March 2.
You must order a cap and gown at the TTC bookstore to confirm your assigned seat at the graduation ceremony. Graduation is a formal occasion. Female graduates should wear dark shoes, tea-length dresses or appropriate suits with their caps and gowns. Male graduates should wear dark shoes, dark pants, dress shirt and tie. Graduation protocol also includes placing tassels on the right front side of the mortar board cap before degrees are conferred.
Only graduates attired in appropriate academic regalia can participate in the ceremony.
National honor society regalia sanctioned by the TTC Graduation Committee are the only regalia permitted with cap and gowns other than TTC honor graduate medallions. Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Mu Gamma graduates with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA are the only graduates who may wear their organizations' regalia. Phi Theta Kappa members who need stoles should contact Phi Theta Kappa headquarters: phone 1.800.946.9996; website: www.ptk.org . Alpha Mu Gamma members should contact their advisors to order regalia.
Place your order for your graduation cap/gown in the Main Campus Bookstore before the cap and gown order deadline, March 2.
All graduates participating in the graduation ceremony must wear academic regalia purchased at TTC Bookstore. Payment is required when placing your order.
Graduation announcements may be purchased at the same time you place your cap/gown order.
If you place your cap & gown order after the deadline, you will be charged a late fee.

Step 3 - Students/Guests with Disabilities [top]
Students or guests with disabilities who require special assistance during the ceremony should contact Jim Orgel at 574.6362 or Deborah Freel at 574.6013, or TTY 574.6351. Advance notice must be given for those with special needs so the appropriate arrangements can be made.
An elevator is available through the Coliseum’s south entrance.
Step 4 - Graduation Notification [top]
The Registrar’s office sends a Graduation Bulletin to graduates approximately three weeks prior to the ceremony that provides specific details regarding the rehearsal, the ceremony, and pick up dates for graduation announcements and caps/gowns. Graduation announcements and caps/gowns will be available early to mid-April 2008.
Step 5 - Mandatory Dress Rehearsal and Line-up [top]
A mandatory Dress Rehearsal and Line-up is held on Friday, May 8 at 5:30 p.m. immediately before the graduation ceremony at the North Charleston Coliseum. Do not arrive late. Please arrive dressed in cap/gown and do not bring personal belongings with you. There is no safe place to store your belongings. Graduates should enter at the south entrance closest to Montague Ave. on the ground floor. No children are allowed on the coliseum floor during the rehearsal or graduation ceremony.
Before dress rehearsal, decide where to meet your family and friends outside of the Coliseum after the ceremony. All graduates will exit at the east entrance (under the covered walkway to the Convention Center) immediately following the ceremony.
Step 6 - Graduation Ceremony [top]
The procession will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Graduates will be led to their seats by student marshals. Graduates who arrive late for the ceremony will not be placed in line after the procession begins. The ceremony will last approximately two hours.
At the end of the ceremony, graduates will exit the Coliseum at the east entrance (under the covered walkway to the Convention Center).
Diploma covers are given to students during the ceremony. The Registrar's office mails the actual diplomas and certificates to graduates four to six weeks following the ceremony.
