Welcome to Developmental Studies English/ Reading/
English as a Second Language

Developmental Studies English and Reading are computer-mediated, self-paced courses that prepare students for entry into their designated programs of study. Instructors in DS English and reading are available to provide individual assistance to students and are committed to helping students attain success in English and reading.

Non-native speakers of English who need to develop or improve their listening, speaking, reading or writing skills may enroll in one or more of nine ESL (English as a Second Language) courses. These courses offer classes and supplementary lab experiences that focus on grammar, pronunciation, writing, vocabulary development, reading skills and communication. Not every course is offered every semester, so an ESL student will meet with an ESL advisor to map out a schedule to meet his or her needs. The goal of all of the ESL classes is to prepare students who speak English as a second or other language to enroll in programs of study at the college.

Contact Laurann Wespy at 843.574.6319 or Laurann.Wespy@tridentech.edu to set up an appointment and learn more about TTC’s ESL classes.
