International Student Admissions Guide

This admissions guide has been developed to provide information to non-immigrants who desire to enroll in Trident Technical College under Foreign Student Status (F-1). Applicants desiring to enroll under Foreign Student Status must complete all of the requirements listed inside this brochure before an I-20 can be considered. Non-immigrants who are presently under a status other F-1, who do not desire to change to F-1, will not need to complete the requirements listed. Applicants in this category will be admitted under regular admissions requirements after approval is received from the local immigration office. Immigrants who have received temporary or permanent residency will be admitted provided they have met the regular admissions requirements. All applicants who are not United States citizens must provide official paperwork showing their present immigration status prior to beginning the admissions process. Interested applicants should request an appointment with the International Admissions Coordinator at (843) 574-6325. Applicants desiring to be admitted under F-1 status must submit all completed F-1 admissions requirements listed two months prior to the application deadline for the semester in which they wish to enroll.

General Information

Trident Technical College is a two-year commuter college. Dormitory facilities are not available since the College primarily serves local students who commute from their residences. In addition, the College will not assume responsibilities or otherwise become involved in the affairs of a foreign student beyond those directly associated with academics. Trident Technical College is not able to offer financial aid to foreign students; thus tuition and expenses must be paid directly by the student.
Students on F-1 visas must enroll in at least 12 credit  hours in Fall and Spring semesters and may enroll in Summer term if they wish.
