Accelerate Greater Charleston Scholarship

Established in 2013 by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce , the fund assists assist graduating high school seniors who wish to enroll in selected associate degree programs related to STEM, Health Services, Nursing and Culinary/Hospitality.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new student (includes dual credit students);
2) must be a resident Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties;
3) must be a senior participating in an EDGE Academy program in one of the following high schools at the time of application to be admitted to TTC:

- Ashley Ridge High School
- Ft. Dorchester High School
- Goose Creek High School
- Summerville High School
- Timberland High School

4) must designate and eventually enroll in one or more of the following associate degree programs of study when applying for admission to TTC:

  • Aeronautical Studies
    - Aircraft Maintenance Technology
     
  • Health Sciences
    - Dental Hygiene
    - Emergency Medical Technology
    - EMT - Advanced Placement Option
    - General Technology Career Paths in:
             Expanded Duty Dental Assistant         
             Massage Therapy
             Medical Assisting
             Pharmacy Technician

    - Occupational Therapy Assistant

    - Physical Therapy Assistant
    - Radiologic Technology

    5) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours per (full time enrollment preferred); and
    6) must have a cumulative GPA of  2.0 or greater (2.0 2.9 GPA preferred).

    Award amount/use: Award of up to $2,000 ($1,000 for fall semester/$1,000 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.
