J. David Gibson III Memorial Scholarship

Established in 2013 by the Lowcountry Manufacturers Council, the fund assists students enrolled in  various Business Technology and Industrial and Engineering Technology program of study.

Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant:

1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;
2) must be a resident of Berkeley, Charleston or Dorchester counties;
3) must be enrolled in the following  programs of study:

Associate Degrees:
General Business
- Career Path in Marketing
- Career Path Small Business/Entrepreneurship

General Technology
- Career Path in Electrician: Industrial and Construction
- Career Path in Industrial Maintenance Mechanics
- Career Path in Welding

Electronics Engineering Technology
Mechanical Engineering Technology
Mechanical Engineering Technology Career Path in Manufacturing and Assembly

Certificates:
- Basic Machining and CNC Fundamentals
- Chemical Engineering Transfer (USC)
- Electrical Engineering Transfer (The Citadel)
- Electrical Engineering Transfer (USC)
- Electrical Line Worker Third Class

Eligibility Criteria:  To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant: 

4) must enroll in and maintain at least six credit hours;

5) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater; and

6) must demonstrate financial need (determined from completed FAFSA form).

Award amount/use: Award of up to $2,000 ($1,000 for fall semester/$1,000 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment.
