Sharon & William Asbill Assoc. in Arts & Science
Established in 2007 by Sharon and William Asbill, the fund assists students enrolled in either the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree program who intend to transfer to a four-year college to complete a four-year degree and who have delayed the start or completion of their higher education goals because of family, financial or health reasons.
Eligibility Criteria: To be considered for this scholarship, applicants:
1) must be a new, returning or continuing student;
2) must be enrolled in the either the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree (transfer) program;
3) must enroll in and maintain at least 6 credit hours; and
4) must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
Essay Requirement: Applicants are required to provide a brief essay describing educational and career goals and the circumstances that the applicant had to overcome to continue their higher education goals. Instructions for submitting the essay will be provided during the application process.
Award amount/use: Award of up to $2,000 ($1,000 for fall semester/$1,000 for spring semester) for tuition, books, required course materials and equipment. The award is renewable for one year as long as the recipient continues to meet all eligibility criteria.
