The College-Level Examination Program of the College Board is a national system of credit-by-examination. TTC is an open testing center for CLEP examinations. The exams are available at the Main campus and the Palmer campus.
CLEP examinations are computer-based, multiple-choice format and are 90 minutes long. Some institutions require optional essays. Information concerning CLEP examinations can be found online at http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html
Cost
A fee of $70 (effective July 1, 2008) is charged by the College Board for each examination taken. Examination fees are payable by check, money order, or major credit card to CLEP on the day of testing.
A $16 per test service fee, paid separately from the CLEP examination fee, is payable to TTC on the day of testing. The service fee is non-refundable and is not transferable to another test date.
Reporting of Scores
Immediately after completing the examination, scores are reported to the examinee and the institution indicated. Official score reports are mailed about three weeks after testing. CLEP maintains scores for 20 years; therefore, transcript service may be requested at a later date for an additional fee.
Repeating CLEP Examinations
To be eligible to repeat a CLEP examination, a waiting period of six months is required. Scores on tests repeated earlier than six months are subject to cancellation and forfeiture of fees.
Study Materials
The College Board's The Official Study Guide for the CLEP Examinations contains descriptions of exams, sample questions, lists of reference materials for test preparation, and test-taking strategies. Study Guides may be purchased by phone at (800) 323-7155 or online at http://store.collegeboard.com

Examinations Accepted for Credit at TTC

CLEP examinations accepted for course exemptions, the amount of credit awarded, and score requirements are subject to change without notice.
