Where Have They Gone?

Where are the heroes
of legend we all know
where are the soldiers
who fought the deadly foe
where are the cowboys
that we miss ever so

They have mounted up with wings
like eagles, and flown into the Son
to inherit their reward
while our race has just begun

They have passed from the fleeting world and stepped into the holy and timeless these heroes are in their own country where they will always find rest

So the flame moves on now
to the next would be torch
and we see the impact of one life
in that we find the world of darkness scorched

I sometimes ask myself
"can we make it all change?"
but then i hear a quiet answer
"nothing is out of my range."

So i will follow the path
of these heroes, to renew
and make myself into a link
in the chain of the few...
