Lacey and her husband, Zack were redecorating their new house. They were almost done except for their bedroom.  They had been painting all day and they run out of paint. Zack told Lacey that he’d go to the store and get the paint. Lacey told him that she wanted to go with him. After getting the paint they needed they were on their way home, when Lacey remembered she needed to go to the Pharmacy to get some things. Lacey and Zack went in the store and Lacey got what she needed and they went up to the check out counter. Just as they were paying the cashier three men walked in.
    Lacey remembered that she had forgot something and ran to the back of the store to get it. Then the men each pulled out guns. One went to the cashier and said, “Give me all the cash.” The cashier did as she was told. He turned Zack who was still at the counter and told him to give him all his money. Zack pulled his wallet out and took all the cash from it. The other guys were still roaming around the store. Then gunshots were heard. Zack panicked thinking that Lacey had been shot. The two men got back up to the front and said they had it taken care of. They then heard sirens. They began to panic. They started yelling at the cashier and then shot her. They saw Lacey on the ground behind a shelf and jerked her up. She struggled with them. Then one of them hit her in the head with their gun. She fell motionless. Zack didn’t know what to do. He knew he couldn’t risk getting killed because then he couldn’t help Lacey. The head guy realized that they were married. He told Zack, “Well, we need a hostage and your wife will do just fine.” He went to go after them to get Lacey, but the guy put the gun up to Lacey’s head and Zack stopped. He watched as they left the store with Lacey. They put her in a SUV and sped off. Just as they were driving off Lacey woke up and heard a huge boom. She sat up and saw that the store had exploded.
    Lacey began to try and get out of the car. She had the door opened when the guy in the back with her pulled her back and causing her to close the door. The guy told her to calm down but Lacey wouldn’t. She was too worried about Zack. The guy finally got tired of her and slapped her. He slapped her so hard that she fell unconscious again. They managed to find some rope. They tied her hands up with the rope.
    The police got to the scene and were calling for back up and emergency assistance. Zack walked out of the store and one of the police officers asked if he was okay. Zack being a police officer himself knew most of the police. Once the captain realized that Zack was in the explosion he grew concerned for him. He told Zack he needed to go to the hospital and get looked at and asked if he needed to call Lacey. Zack looked at the captain and said, “They took her.” The captain asked what he meant. Zack said, “Three men came in the store and two of them went to the back and shots went off. They came to the front and that’s where Lacey and I were. They heard ya’ll come and panicked and took her. Then next thing I knew the building was blowing up.” The captain said, “Zack, we will find Lacey. But you need to go to the hospital and get looked at. Lacey would want you to, just to make sure you are okay.” Zack finally agreed to go to the hospital.
    After getting in the ambulance and finally arriving at the hospital he was immediately taken back to be examined. His brother had followed him. His brother, Camden was also a police officer and had arrived at the scene to find his brother was involved. Zack was angry and upset that this happened. He hated that he didn’t know where Lacey was or if she was okay.
    The doctor came in and examined him. He doctor told him that he would be okay but had same cuts that needed to be stitched. After he got stitched up he was ready to leave the hospital. He told Camden that he was going to go and try and find Lacey. Camden tried to stop him and told him to go home and let them find Lacey. He knew that Zack wouldn’t just go home and wait for them to find Lacey. Camden drove Zack back to his house and told him to be careful. Camden drove away to go back to the scene. Zack went and got into his SUV and backed out the driveway. Zack didn’t know where to begin looking but knew he had to start somewhere. He called Camden and gave him the description of the car and the license number. Camden pulled up the information and found that the car was registered to an Adam Westly. Zack then went and found the address his brother gave him.
    When he pulled up outside the address he knew no one was there. They place was run down and he just knew they weren’t there. He then didn’t know where else to go from there. He was getting worried about Lacey and didn’t want anything to happen to her. He called Camden and tried to figure out if there was anything else he could go on.
    Meanwhile the three guys were still driving. They had got across the state line. They came to a house and went in. They put Lacey on a couch and went into another room. They began discussing what they were going to do. They had not planned on taking any hostages. And now they had one. And knew that she would have to be killed to keep their identity hidden.
    Lacey began waking up. She looked around and realized she was in a house. She was confused, because she didn’t know this house. She then realized that she was tied up and then remembered what had happened. She didn’t know what to do. She managed to roll off the couch and crawl across the floor.  She got to a back bedroom where she didn’t think she would be seen and tried opening a window. As she was getting through the window one of the guys walked in. He startled Lacey and she rolled out the window falling to the ground. The house was built up and so there was a long ways for her to fall. The other two guys realized what was going on and ran out to find Lacey.
    They found her and carried her back into the house.  Lacey told them to let her go that she wouldn’t do anything with them. They told her that they were not letting her go that she was their hostage. They locked her in a room and made sure she wouldn’t get out again. Lacey was so upset she lay there on the bed and thoughts of all kinds went racing through her head. She fell asleep after lying there for so long and thinking. When she woke up she was in a great deal of pain. She also saw a good bit of blood surrounding her. She couldn’t understand where the blood had all come from. One of the men came in the room and had brought a glass of water. He saw the blood and knew they were in trouble. He left the room and went and told the other guys about all the blood. They realized that this was now a really bad situation.
Zack had managed to find some information that led him out of the state and across the state line. He managed to come to a house that he thought Lacey was at. He called Camden who told him not to do anything until the police got there. So Zack sat in the car and waited until the police arrived and had been explained everything. They called for the guys to come out. The guys began to panic. They sent one guy out with Lacey who could barely walk or stand. She was in and out of consciousness. She saw Zack in the street and felt a sense of relief and then she blacked out. The guy started walking down the stairs and carried Lacey in front of him.  He tripped; dropped Lacey and the police began shooting. Lacey feel down a few stairs and the guy behind her as well. They raced to check on Lacey and get her in an ambulance. She woke up and saw Zack and he looked at her and said that she would be okay.
