Members of Trident Technical College's Department of English and Journalism share a common vision:  to maintain a reputation as a superior place to learn and to teach the art of composition and the appreciation of literature.

Our common mission is four-fold:  to help our students learn to read perceptively, think critically, and write effectively; to serve as a responsive and productive resource for our colleagues within the College; to provide the means for our faculty members to develop themselves as professionals committed to lifelong learning and teaching excellence; and to actively support the College’s mission of open access and student success.
