NUR 207 Fall 2009 Fast Forward 1 session:

Welcome to NUR 207 Mental Health Promotion.  Ms. LeFevre and Ms. Curtis are looking forward to meeting you all.  Classes for NUR 207 begin on Tuesday August 25 in room 630/104 from 10:20 am to 12:50 pm.  

The following are clinical sections for FF1.  There may be changes so make sure your email account is not full.  You will be receiving lots of emails from us in this course.

Please note that in FF1 Z03, Z04, Z05 sections are evening clinicals.

 

Orientation Information:

On-campus orientations will begin in the Nursing Resource Center for ALL GROUPS on Wednesday 8/26 at 8 am.  

The Monday clinical groups will not attend clinical on 8/24 since you will have your orientation on 8/26.

Dress:  If your clinical is at IOP, wear your school uniform with both your TTC picture ID and your nursing department nametag.  If  your clinical is at Palmetto, wear non-suggestive, professional clothes, no dangling jewelry, closed toed and closed heeled shoes and your TTC picture ID and nursing department name tag (no lab coats or uniforms). 

Bring your syllabus and textbooks. 

Your calendar for the course and syllabus are posted on shared files of campus cruiser.

Bring the following sections of your syllabus to clinical orientation.  These are located under “Shared Files” in campus cruiser.

·         Section III B Clinical Information and Procedures

·         Section IV Structured Post Conferences

·         Section V Clinical Worksheet

·         Section VI Interpersonal Process Recording

·         Section VII Clinical Handouts

·         Section VIII Clinical Evaluation Tool

Note:  There is a new printing policy on campus.  You will now be charged for printing in the computer labs on campus.  The fee is 10 cents a page.  Pay cards can be purchased in the college bookstore.

All students need to submit their summary sheet from your last clinical course to your clinical instructor on the first clinical day.

For IOP students, we will go to IOP (Institute of Psychiatry) from school and eat lunch there after a tour of the facility.  Park in the Hagood lot or at County (where ever you have a parking pass).

For IOP students you must complete CATTS.  This is good for 1 year but you need to submit a copy of the list of classes, the communicable disease attestation, cyber security agreement, and the CWO signed certificate for MUSC.  Further information about this will be given to you at orientation.

For Palmetto students, you will be given directions to Palmetto during the on-campus portion of the clinical orientation on 8/26.

There are no specific in-service requirements for Palmetto at this time other than being current with the medialab in-services.
