Introduction to Continuing Education Online LearningThis course provides an introduction to software applications necessary to participate in Continuing Education online programs. Other applications reviewed are Microsoft Outlook and searching the net. This course is a prerequisite to all online courses. No Book Required.

Medical Terminology for Transcriptionists
This course helps students master the medical vocabulary and terms used in Transcription. It covers word parts, root words, general application, abbreviations, medical terminology and body systems. Books not included

Legal Terminology
This course is a review of basic legal terminology that may apply in a number of different occupations from law enforcement, employees of law offices and the court system as well as real estate agents. This course will cover constitutional law and administrative law as well as torts, property, real estate, business organizations, securities, anti-trust, labor and employment, debtor creditor relationships, domestic relations and estates.. This course teaches to the student master grammar and punctuation that is necessary to understand to be a successful Court Reporter. The course will cover the following components: The Period, Question Mark, Semicolons, .Colons, Commas, Dashes,. Quotations Marks, Parentheses, Apostrophe, Hyphens, Numbers, Capitalization, Abbreviations, Italics/Ellipsis Points and the Slant, Paragraphing, Latin. Books not included.

This course is a fun and easy way to learn all about court reporting and what court reporting actually is. The student will learn about the swearing in of witnesses, preparing transcripts, formats, and different styles of reporting. Also covers software and computer integrated courtrooms. You will then have the option to go on to do the theory and speed building portions of Court Reporting with www.stenowave.com.
Before beginning with Stenowave you will need to purchase the appropriate equipment. The Stentura Protégé is suggested for students. This can be purchased through www.stenograph.com one of the leading manufacturers of court reporting equipment. You will also need to purchase the Flashwriter by ProCAT. The following costs are subject to change. The pricing is an estimate.

Theory:
Approximately 4 months @ $169 each payable monthly to Stenowave for a total of $676. Some students may finish earlier and it may take other students longer to complete. Learning the art of Court Reporting requires lots of practice. The more you practice the less time it will take you to get through the program.
Speed building
Approximately 20 months @ $169 each payable to Stenowave for a total of $3,380. Some students may finish earlier and it may take other students longer to complete. Learning the art of Court Reporting requires lots of practice. The more you practice the less time it will take you to get through. This course is where you build your speed.
