EVALUATION CRITERIA

TMUN Awards are given to individuals and, beginning with TMUN 2010, to a delegation.

The judges recommend the individual award recipient based upon their performance in committee using the following evaluation criteria. The judging panel for each committee includes the dais staff and the head judge, a faculty member from The College. The three head judges recommend the delegation award recipient based upon their overall performance in all committees.

The evaluation criteria for all awards is

  • knowledge and representation of nation's interests, policies, and positions;
  • knowledge of committee's topics;
  • knowledge and skillful use of TMUN Parliamentary Procedure;
  • skill and effectiveness in caucus, amendment, and debate;
  • quality of resolutions submitted by conference deadline;
  • ability to develop solutions within a resolution; and
  • exemplification of the characteristics of the United Nations.

Individual Awards are

  • Dr. Charles McCloy Ambassador Award (1st Place)
  • Outstanding Diplomat Award (2nd Place)
  • Distinguished Delegate Award (3rd Place)

The Delegation Award is

  • Superior Delegation (Best Overall Member Nation)
