August 25, 2010... Trident Technical College’s Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development will offer Law School for Non-Lawyers, a course taught by lawyers about legal issues that may affect you. The course meets 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays, Sept. 14-Oct. 26, at the college’s Main Campus in North Charleston. Cost is $45, which includes materials.

Course topics include an overview of state courts, alternative dispute resolution, juvenile justice and child protection, and family law. Also covered are real estate/landlord tenant law, wills, estates and probate, health care and elder law, South Carolina workers’ compensation law, employment law, bankruptcy law, consumer law and debt collection, criminal law, and torts. Speakers are volunteers from the South Carolina Bar Pro Bono Program.
