April 14, 2010...
On May 11, TTC will launch the new my.tridenttech student portal. Here is what students can expect:
• Your email address will not change from what you currently use in CampusCruiser.
• Your my.tridenttech portal login ID and password will be exactly the same as your TTC Express login ID and password. The my.tridenttech portal includes your new Google email account.
• All current students will receive a my.tridenttech Google email account.
• You will have access to your old CampusCruiser email messages until July 1, 2010. Starting May 11, you will be able to forward old email messages from CampusCruiser to your my.tridentech Google email account, as desired.
• TTC will send admissions, financial aid, advising, registration, and student activities messages to my.tridenttech email accounts.
• Course related email messages from instructors and classmates will reside in the Desire2Learn (D2L) Learning Management System. D2L is a closed email system, so you will not be able to forward messages to and from your D2L email account.
• You will be able to auto-forward my.tridentech email to a different email account.
• The cutover process from CampusCruiser mail delivery to Google mail delivery will occur between May 7 and 10. During this timeframe, your messages will start to be delivered to your my.tridenttech email account.
What else will I get with the Google-based my.tridenttech portal?
• 7 Gigabytes of email storage. No more worries about having to delete mail.
• Instant messaging from within your mailbox & free PC-to-PC voice calls.
• Google Docs to create and share documents, spreadsheets and presentations online.
• Your own personalized Start Page, where you can access all these services.
• Mobile device access to your email. (e.g. iPhone, Blackberry)
• TTC Calendars, Announcements, Facebook, and Twitter RSS feeds.
• TTC student club sites.
