October 2, 2009... Trident Technical College offers continuing education courses in social networking and video game design.

Learn how to use Twitter to communicate with others. Course topics include setting up a Twitter account and searching for people or topics of interest. The Twitter course is offered 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Nov. 7. Cost is $49.

The Facebook course covers the basics, including how to set up your own page and add pictures and comments. Finding friends and using your Facebook page to network with others is also covered. The Facebook course is offered 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 12. Cost is $49.

Video Game Design for Beginners explains how video games work and how to create them. Prior knowledge of video game design and programming is not required. The course meets 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Fridays, Nov. 6-20. Cost is $399. These computer courses are offered at the Continuing Education Center (Bldg. 910) on TTC’s Main Campus, 2001 Mabeline Rd., North Charleston.

TTC also offers training on the most popular software applications, including AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project and QuickBooks. Design and Internet courses include Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Web Design.
