Ground broken for new Dorchester County QuickJobs Center

September 9, 2009... Dorchester County held a groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 2 to kick off construction of a new QuickJobs Center. The center is a partnership between Dorchester County, Trident Technical College, the Upper Dorchester Legislative Delegation and the state Department of Commerce. Dorchester County will own the building, which is part of the new Dorchester County municipal complex under construction in St. George. Trident Technical College will operate the center and provide short-term training to local residents who need job-specific skills for quick employment. The 5,630-square-foot center is scheduled to open for classes next summer.

Officials broke ground on a new QuickJobs Center in St. George Sept. 2. The center will promote economic development by offering work force training to residents of upper Dorchester County.
