TTC OFFERS KIDS’ COLLEGE CHESS CAMPS

June 8, 2009... Children ages 8-16 can learn how to play chess in the Kids’ College summer camp program at Trident Technical College. This is TTC’s 12th year providing camps that help develop and expand children’s interests, stimulate creativity and provide unique learning opportunities on a college campus.

TTC offers chess camps for children ages 8-11 and ages 12-16. Playing chess is not only a great way to have fun with family and friends, but it also builds confidence, encourages concentration and fosters a lifelong love of intellectual exploration. Chess Camp for ages 8-11 meets 1-4:30 p.m. June 22-26 and 8:30 a.m.-noon July 20-24 and Aug. 3-7. For ages 12-16, Chess Club meets 8:30 a.m.-noon June 22-26 and 1-4:30 p.m. July 20-24 and Aug. 3-7. Cost is $129. Chess camps are held at TTC’s Main Campus in North Charleston.

TTC offers more than 50 other camps on a variety of subjects, such as LEGOs, science, leadership, math, computers, writing, video gaming, photography, Web design and more.
