TTC HOLDS MODEL UNITED NATIONS

March 23, 2009...

More than 50 students from area high schools and home-school organizations participated in this year’s Model United Nations for high school students held at Trident Technical College.

The Model United Nations offers students the chance to become familiar with diplomacy, international relations and how the UN works. It also allows them to exercise and improve their public speaking skills. Teams of students represented different countries on three committees: Legal; Political and Security; and Social and Humanitarian. Each committee strives to reach a resolution through formal debate, resolution writing and caucus.

Pinewood Preparatory School won six of the nine committee awards, earning it the Superior Delegation award.
