WEST RECEIVES MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. AWARD

March 18, 2009... Trident Technical College history instructor Donald West received the Martin Luther King Jr. Outstanding and Distinguished Service Award from the Black History Intercollegiate Consortium. West, a resident of North Charleston, was chosen for the award by TTC students. He was honored at the consortium’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. program held at The Citadel.

The Black History Intercollegiate Consortium consists of representatives from Charleston Southern University, The Citadel, the Medical University of South Carolina and Trident Technical College. The purpose of the consortium is to create a forum to enhance racial harmony between the universities and the community, to promote the study of African-American history, and to provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of African-Americans.



Donald West, a history instructor at Trident Technical College, received the Martin Luther King Jr. Outstanding and Distinguished Service Award from the Black History Intercollegiate Consortium.
