Learn how to beautify your home inside and out with continuing education courses at Trident Technical College.

Landscape Design – Introduction provides hands-on practice with the basic principles of landscape design. It meets 6-9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, May 5-12.

Landscape Design – Advanced covers designing hardscapes as well as costing out materials and labor. It is offered 6-9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 2-9. The landscape design courses are $85 each.

Learn effective landscape design with two key elements in Landscaping with Trees and Shrubs, offered 6-9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, May 19-21. Cost is $70.

Got Trees? The Care and Nurturing of Trees covers tree anatomy and physiology, climate and environmental factors for successful growth and nutrition. This course is offered 6-8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, June 16-25. Cost is $110. All horticulture courses are held at TTC’s Main Campus in North Charleston.

Floral Design I covers the fundamentals of flower arranging, including an introduction to materials and equipment, the care and identification of fresh flowers and their appropriate uses, and principles of design and color. This course is offered 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Mondays, June 2-July 21.

Floral Design II covers current styles of design such as high style, line, form and pavé as well as permanents and accessories. It is offered 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Aug. 4-Sept. 29. Floral design courses are held at Tiger Lily Florist, 131 Spring Street, in downtown Charleston. Cost is $159 per course.

Learn the basic rules for color, wallpapering, furniture arranging, accessorizing and lighting in Interior Design I. It is offered 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 20-June 12, at TTC’s Main Campus in North Charleston. Cost is $159.
